SSO is touchy. I also found if you rename the server or even give it more memory or CPU, it can fail to start and you have to follow this KB http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=2036170&sliceId=2&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&dialogID=674646019&stateId=1%200%20674644637 to get things rolling again.

And you are lucky. For me SQL Express wont install. Neither with SSO, nor alone before SSO and even not SQL Express 2012.
For now I just cant upgrade to 5.1 for this reason …
I guess I’ll have to open a SR if I cant find any workaround.
That added to VDR –> VDP with no compat

I’ve had my troubles as well with getting it to install properly. I’ve found little success with the scripts and it seems to work best with the SQL Express install.

So, they are forcing us to install Single Sign-On software before vCenter will install… Awesome. How about if you have no need for this? Just trying this install today, and the whole installation feels like a botched-together set of scripts to hunt down, and hoops to jump through to get this thing working. I’d be more impressed with 5.1 if they spent more energy fixing the multitude of bugs rather than adding bloat and features of little value to the average SMB.

Incrediline makes whiteboard decals that are entirely mobile and don’t lose their stick. So if you’re in a position that you could be moving a lot, Incrediline would be a good choice because then you can roll it up in a scroll and just bring it everywhere until you find a place to put it. I’ve used mine for 4 years now and it still works perfectly

I love the idea of Idea Paint, but living in an apartment and moving frequently makes the tileboard a better option for me. Once I settle down and buy a house? Idea Paint all of the walls in the office.

Just have to remember to not draw on the walls elsewhere in the house.
